Terminal Development Progress

OUR DEVELOPMENT JOURNEY

Investing in the future of Terminal A

Since assuming the port concession in 2006, PTOL has undertaken significant infrastructure upgrades and operational improvements aimed at strengthening the capacity and efficiency of Terminal “A”.

A major achievement has been the rehabilitation and upgrading of the berths, improving the functionality, safety and reliability of the terminal’s docking facilities. These improvements have strengthened PTOL’s operational capability and supported more efficient maritime operations.

PTOL has also invested in the improvement of its land infrastructure. Civil works and the paving of stacking areas have enhanced storage and cargo-handling capacity, improved operational flow and contributed to more efficient use of terminal space.

CONTINUOUS INVESTMENT

Developments across the terminal

01

Perimeter and security infrastructure

Another important aspect of PTOL’s terminal development has been the reinforcement of perimeter fencing and the strengthening of security infrastructure across the terminal. These improvements, supported by CCTV surveillance and controlled access measures, have enhanced the protection of personnel, cargo and terminal assets.

02

Cargo-handling equipment

PTOL has also continued to invest in cargo-handling equipment and machinery to support the efficient handling of different cargo types and volumes. These investments strengthen operational capability and enable the terminal to respond more effectively to changing customer and industry requirements.

03

Workforce development

Workforce development remains another important area of investment. Through recruitment, training and continuous development, PTOL seeks to maintain a skilled and competent workforce capable of supporting safe, efficient and reliable terminal operations.

04

Lighting, weighbridges and operational facilities

Operational safety and visibility have also been strengthened through high-mast lighting in key areas of the terminal. Improved lighting supports safer night operations and enhances visibility across operational areas. The installation of weighbridges also supports accurate cargo weight measurement, operational efficiency and compliance with applicable requirements.

LOOKING FORWARD

A stronger foundation for efficient operations

Since assuming the concession in 2006, PTOL has continued to invest in infrastructure, security, equipment, technology and workforce development. Together, these improvements have strengthened the terminal’s operational capability and provide a solid foundation for continued growth and service improvement.
